Our fit guarantee
We don’t guarantee scores or acceptances, but we do guarantee fit. If your first paid session with a tutor or advisor isn’t the right match, tell us within 48 hours of that session and we’ll either pair you with someone else or refund that hour in full. Your choice. No awkward conversation required.
The fit guarantee applies to the first session with each new tutor or advisor.
Rescheduling and cancelling a session
- 24 hours or more before the session: reschedule or cancel for free. The hour stays on your account.
- Less than 24 hours before, or a no-show: the session counts as used. If something genuinely unavoidable happens, like illness or an emergency, email us. We’ll be reasonable.
- If your tutor or advisor cancels or misses a session: you keep the hour, and we’ll reschedule at a time that works for you or refund that hour, whichever you prefer.
Unused hours
The first 10 hours of any purchase are non-refundable. Any hours you buy beyond the first 10 can be refunded if you haven’t used them. You can stop at any time and request that refund.
- Example: you buy 20 hours and use 12. The 8 unused hours are refundable.
- Example: you buy 20 hours and use 6. The first 10 hours aren’t refundable, so the 10 hours beyond them are.
- Example: you buy 10 hours or fewer. Those hours aren’t refundable, but our fit guarantee above still applies to your first session.
How the amount is calculated: your first 20 hours are at the standard rate and the 20% discount applies only to hours beyond 20. We charge for the hours you keep (the hours you used, and never fewer than 10) at the rate they’d cost if you’d bought only those hours, and refund the rest of what you paid.
If we can’t continue working with you, for example because no tutor or advisor is available, every unused hour is refundable, including any within the first 10.
Prepaid hours are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Contact us before they expire if you need more time. We’re happy to work with you.
Your AAMC materials
The AAMC Official MCAT Prep access included with MCAT packages is yours to keep, even if you request a refund. We don’t deduct its cost from your refund. Because the AAMC doesn’t refund access once it’s redeemed, it can’t be exchanged for cash or credit.
Admissions work already delivered
For admissions consulting, an hour counts as used once your advisor has spent it, whether in a live session or reviewing and editing your written materials. We’ll always tell you how review time is being counted before we start.
Free resources
Our newsletter, study guide, Anki deck, video walkthroughs, and free strategy session cost nothing, so there’s nothing to refund. You can unsubscribe from any email list at any time using the link at the bottom of every email.
How to request a refund
Email help@nucleusprep.com with your name and what you’d like refunded. We’ll confirm the amount within 2 business days, and refunds go back to your original payment method. Banks usually take 5 to 10 business days to show it on your statement.
