Nucleus Prep

Admissions Consulting

Guided by advisors who are already where you want to be.

Every Nucleus Prep advisor is a current student at a U.S. MD program. They wrote the personal statement that got read, answered the interview questions that mattered, and opened the acceptance letter, recently. Now they’ll help you do the same.

From your first personal statement draft through activities, secondaries, and interview day, your advisor works with you one-on-one at every stage. You’ll always know what to do next, and why it matters to the people reading your application.

Our advisors are full-time medical students, so we work with a limited number of applicants each cycle.

What applicants say

Verified testimonial

In 4 months

497 → 521

“I started at a 497 while working full-time, just reading prep books with no real plan. My Nucleus Prep tutor, a current med student, found the actual problem in my diagnostic: it wasn't content, it was pacing. We built a schedule around my work shifts, and four months later I scored a 521. I'm headed to UW.”

In 2 months

506 → 517

“I'd already spent months in a big prep company's course and still scored a 506. My Nucleus Prep tutor found exactly where my points were going, specific Bio/Biochem passages and CARS question types I kept missing the same way, instead of making me start over. Two months later I scored a 517 and landed six interviews.”

In 1 month

501 → 513

“With a 501 and only a month before my retake, my Nucleus Prep tutor was straightforward: we didn't have time to relearn everything, so we focused on highest-yield topics and built a test-day routine to fix my nerves. I walked in prepared, scored a 513, and I'm now an MS1 at UCSF.”

Frequently asked questions

When should I start working with an advisor?

Ideally a few months before primary applications open, so there's time to build a strong personal statement and activities list before the cycle gets busy. That said, we work with applicants at any stage — personal statement, secondaries, or interview prep — so starting later doesn't mean starting from scratch.

Which advisor level is right for me?

Basic Advisor is right if you want expert eyes on your application and a clear plan to follow. Senior Advisor is built for hands-on guidance through every stage, from the personal statement through interviews. Admissions Insider is right if you want to see your application the way a committee actually reads it.

Will you write my personal statement or essays for me?

No. Admissions committees are reading for your voice and your story, so your application has to be written by you. Your advisor's job is to ask the right questions, push back where the story isn't landing, and edit — not to write it for you.

Does working with a former admissions committee member give me an advantage at a specific school?

No — no one can influence an admissions decision, and we never share confidential committee information from any school. What an Admissions Insider offers is perspective: a clearer sense of how committees actually read and evaluate an application, so yours is built to hold up under that kind of scrutiny.

Can you help with interviews, including MMIs?

Yes. Sessions include mock interviews in both traditional and MMI formats, with direct feedback on your answers and your delivery afterward.

What if my advisor isn't the right fit?

We guarantee fit, not an acceptance: if your first session isn't the right match, we'll pair you with another advisor or refund that hour.
